Overview
Poppulo is the software used to control the MSUDenver campus digital signs. This software was previously known as Four Winds.
Before you begin...
Who can use Poppulo:
Only assigned contributors from departments that have digital signs and some IT Poppolo admins have access to use Poppulo.

Instructions
- Login to Poppulo and navigate to the Library
- On the side menu choose the folder for the Department sign you want to work on.

- Navigate to the Playlist location for that sign. (by default is should be in the Playlist folder)
- Choose the Playlist for the sign you want to work on.
- Choose + Add Content

- The content in the folder you are making the playlist in will show up first but you can choose different folders from the left side menu options to locate content that yo want to use.
- Click on the content item that you want to add to the playlist. (Control click allows you to choose multiple pieces of content at one time.)
- You can also choose to upload content at this time from your computer by choosing the Upload option
- Choose Done on the bottom right.
- The playlist will now show as being populated with the chosen content.
- Check the duration that a piece of content shows. (By default, everything has a 30 second duration)
- If needed Click on the content item in the playlist to change duration and availabilty of that content.
- Proceed to Publish the Playlist as needed.
In the upper right of the Playlist area there is a "Publish" button.
Choose Publish to send the content changes to the sign.
The Right Sidebar Arrow below the Publish button can be expanded to make changes to the playlist.
From that menu you can choose to turn on Auto Publishing so that any changes made are regularly sent as an update to the sign without having to manually publish those changes.
You can also Name your playlist and enter a description from within the Right Sidebar options
Please note: In order for a newly created Playlist to display on a sign you will need to put in an IT Service Ticket and request that the Playlist be connected to the sign that you would like it to display on. For this reason, we do not recommend deleting current active playlists. If you have deleted a Playlist or any content accidentely please see the "How to Restore Deleted Items" section below.
- Go to Library
- Go to the Playlist Folder
- Choose + New from the upper right corner
- Choose Playlist
- Name the Playlist by opening the right side arrow menu editing the title.
- Add the playlist content as needed
- Put in an IT Service Ticket to request that this Playlist be made active on a sign.
- When the Playlist is connected to the sign navigate to the Playlist again and choose to Publish the content.
Please note: The restore option only work for 15 days after the item has been deleted from the Library.
- Navigate to the Library within Poppulo
- On the left hand side menu, below the list of folders, Choose the “Recently Deleted” option.
- Any deleted content or playlists will be listed in that area for up to 15 days.
- Check the box to the left of the content or playlist item that you want to restore
- The option menu for that item should open.
- Choose “Restore” under the Actions area of that option menu.
Result
The user should now know how to use the Playlist in Poppulo to display content on their Digital Sign. They are also aware that only specific people are given contributer access for a Departments digital signs and therefore access to Poppulo.
