How do I declare my major?

If you want to earn a degree, you must declare a major. You can take a few courses to broaden your education without declaring a major. But, to graduate, you must declare a major. It is advantageous for you to declare a major as soon as possible. Then you will receive advising specific to your needs and will be less likely to take unnecessary courses. This is a two-step process. First, set up an advising session with us.
After you meet with an advisor, please use this new digital form to facilitate that change. You'll fill it out and enter your advisor's e-mail, it'll move to them for review and approval, and then it goes to the Office of the Registrar for processing. The whole process might take a week or two so please be patient! If you have any questions about this process, please reach out to the Registrar's Office at 303-556-2991.
