Summary
This article describes the process for faculty to complete and submit an incomplete form.

The instructor is the person that initiates the incomplete. Generally, the student must have completed the majority of the course work and/or contact hours to qualify for an incomplete. If in doubt if the student qualifies, reach out to the Chair of the department.

The instructor collects the information that is required for submission. This includes the following:

Instructor name and email

Student name and email
-
Student ID (located in Faculty/Staff Hub - advising services -Navigate)

Department chair name and email
-
Course year
-
Course semester
-
Subject/ Course Description Prefix
-
Course Number
-
CRN
-
Completed Work and Grades (student must have completed the majority of the course work and/or contact hours). This includes what course grade would the student receive if the additional work is not completed by the due date.

Uncompleted Work and/or Requirements for Course Completion:
- Click on the link to the Office of registrar, faculty and staff services page.
- Go to the incomplete agreement section, and follow the link.
- Once you submit, the student will receive email asking for confirmation and acknowledgement.
- Once the student submits, the Department Chair will be emailed with approval confirmation and acknowledgement.
- The instructor will submit an "I" as the final grade.
- Ensure the student has access to the course material. This may require the instructor extending the published date of the course. Found in the settings of the course, in canvas.
- Communicate how and where the student should send the assignments for grading.
- Once the students completes the required assignments, the instructor will need to grade the assignments, provide feedback to the student, and assign a final grade to the course.
- The instructor will submit a grade change, located on the MSU Denver Faculty and Staff web page.
- Communicate with the student what the new grade is and that the change has been made.
