Workday OfficeConnect - Self Service Installation Instructions

Workday Office Connect helps users connect Excel to Workday. Individuals who may ask for this software would be looking for financial budget information (e.g. Fiscal managers) for their department. Office Connect can be found in the Software Center for MSU Denver PC's and downloaded from there to use on their machine.

The software allows the downloading of the Workday reports into Excel so that they can open the report from Excel. More functionalities may be expanded in the future.

Before you begin...

Be sure to request OfficeConnect Finance or OfficeConnect Adaptive Planning: OfficeConnect - Self Service Installation and Permissions Request

If you cannot find OfficeConnect in your PC's Software Center, please contact the ITS Helpdesk and request to be added to the "Workday OfficeConnect Users" user collection in SCCM" or open a ticket here: Service - General Support - I Don't S... (teamdynamix.com)

Steps to Install Software Plug-in on PC

 

• Step 1: Open MSU Denver software center by typing “software” into Windows search bar. If you are off campus you will need to disable your VPN before continuing.

 

• Step 2: Walk through the install process as prompted. This will install OfficeConnect on your computer.
• Step 3: Open any MS Office products and click [OfficeConnect], click here to start setup

 

• Step 4: Clicking the OfficeConnect button in any MS Office product will create the prompt below.
• Step 5: Click, [Log in with Workday] button in bottom right of window.

 

 

• Step 6: The following screen will pop up. Enter the configuration exactly as shown below

• Step 7: Click on the SAVE button and then click on the close button if your finished.

Result

That’s it! Now the user can connect any external data source from Office products to both the Adaptive Planning and Financial reporting in Workday.

Remember: if this is a new user that was not part of the initial workday launch and been provided officeconnect Previously,  they will need to put in a separate TDX ticket to change your Workday security to “OfficeConnect access group”
