Overview
If approved by Security MSU Denver allows for temporary privilege escalation via the Jamf Connect Menu Bar app. This article will walk you through the steps of how to gain temporary admin access to your computer.
Before you begin...
In the Self Service app you will see a policy to "Promote to Administrator". If you have been approved for Temporary Admin access, then you will be able to use this feature to temporarily elevate your login session.
Access can be only be granted if approved by the Security team; it can be requested by filling out the Elevated rights request form.
Instructions
- Open the Self Service Application from the Applications folder in Finder.
- Click the Temporary Admin category on the left side and locate the Promote to Administrator policy.
- Click Elevate and you will be granted Administrative privileges for 5 minutes.
Result
You have now temporarily elevated a login session to admin for the allotted time.
