Notification settings for students can be viewed by clicking the Account option in the Canvas Navigation sidebar, then clicking Notifications.

To change the contact method for a specific type of notification, locate the desired notification type and click the appropriate icon for your preferred type of delivery.

Notification icons:
The checkmark means you will receive a notification promptly. Note these notifications may be delayed by up to one hour; if an instructor makes additional changes, this delay will prevent you from being spammed by multiple notifications in a short time frame.
The clock means you will receive a summary of these notifications once daily. Note that Twitter/SMS notification preferences do not support this option.
The calendar means you will receive a summary of these notifications once a week. The date and time of your weekly notifications are posted at the bottom of the notifications page. Note that Twitter/SMS notification preferences do not support this option.
The X means you will not receive any notifications.
