How do I connect to the Citrix Virtual Lab Environment on a computer?

The Virtual Lab is an online environment that allows MSU Denver students to use specific software packages for free in an online environment. These instructions will show you how to install Citrix to access the Virtual Lab.

Before you begin...

When working off campus, you will need to be connected to GlobalProtect in order to access the Virtual Lab. To learn more about GlobalProtect, and to request access to it, please visit this page: What is GlobalProtect? Make sure your GlobalProtect is connected before following these instructions.

For MSU managed computers

  • For Mac computers, the Citrix App can be installed using Self Service. Please visit this article for more information about installing software using Self Service
  • For Windows computers, please contact the ITS Service Desk at 303-352-7548 to assist with the installation.

For personal computers

  • Navigate to the Citrix Website and click Download to download the Citrix Workspace App.
  • Open the downloaded file to start the installation.
  • Click Next at each screen, and then click Install.
  • Once the installation has finished, click Add Account.

  • Type into the presented field, then click Add.

  • Enter your MSU credentials (just the NETID and password) into the appropriate fields, then click Log On (you may be required to enter credentials twice).

You should now be connected to the Virtual Lab Environment. Click Apps at the top of the page to see a full list of available software for use. Click on the icon of the software you want to use to open it.
