Overview
This article will walk you through the steps on how to chat with individuals or groups in Teams.
Before you begin...
You will need to have Teams installed on your device.
Instructions
1. Click the Chat button in the left navigation menu.
2. Start a new chat by clicking on the New Chat icon at the top of the list.
3. Type the email address(es) or the first and last name of the people you'd like to invite to the chat.
4. Compose a message in the available box and click the Send button (paper airplane icon) in the bottom-right.
Result
You will know you have successfully sent a chat to an individual or channel when a chat window is produced. Invalid channels or user names will not allow you to send a message and will give a "We didn't find any matches." message.
