How do I download and install Yuja?

Overview

YuJa offers an out-of-the-box extension that enables you to view, record, upload, publish, search, and share video directly from your Canvas environment. This is used to improve student engagement, creativity and learning results, as well as ease of use for students and faculty.

Before you begin...

If you are not on campus, you will need to have access to, and already set up, GlobalProtect.

Instructions

For Personal Computers (Both Mac and Windows)

  1. Visit https://msudenver.yuja.com and select the option Metropolitan State University of Denver SSO to login, then click the login button.
  2. After a few seconds, you will be redirected to the YuJa Media Channel. Click on Create Recording button.
  3. Click on the Download link to download and install the YuJa software required to record (Windows or MacOS).
  4. You will be prompted to save the YuJa Software Station to your machine (by default it saves into your computers Downloads folder).  Once the File is downloaded, double click on the downloaded file to begin the installation of the software.
  5. After the installation, open Yuja and login by selecting the option for Metropolitan State University of Denver SSO.
  6. Click on the Settings link at the top right corner of the YuJa Software Station window.
  7. Click on screen capture tab and change the resolution to 1280x720 or higher.
  8. Click the Save button to save your settings changes.

 

For MSU-Issued Computers (Windows)

  1. Make sure you are using Global Protect and are "Connected".
  2. Click on the search bar at the bottom left of the screen and type "Software Center".
  3. Click Open.
  4. Click the Applications tab on the left.
  5. Scroll down until you see Yuja Software Station. 
  6. Click on Yuja Software Station.
  7. Click Install.
  8. Wait while the software downloads and installs for you. 
  9. Once the installation is complete, the "Install" button should have been replaced with an "Uninstall" button.
  10. After the installation, open Yuja and login by selecting the option for Metropolitan State University of Denver SSO.
  11. Click on the Settings link at the top right corner of the YuJa Software Station window.
  12. Click on screen capture tab and change the resolution to 1280x720 or higher.
  13. Click the Save button to save your settings changes.

 

For MSU-Issued Computers (MacOS)

  1. Use the Spotlight Search (magnifying glass) at the top right of your desktop to search for "Self Service".
  2. Use the drop down menu to click Self Service from the search results.
  3. Self Service will open. Click in the Search Bar at the top left of the screen and search for "Yuja".
  4. Click Install.
  5. Allow the application some time to download and install.
  6. You'll know the installation is complete when you see the option to "Reinstall". 
  7. Click Yuja to open the application. 
  8. Select the options Single Sign On and Metropolitan State University of Denver from the login screen.
  9. Click Sign in.
  10. Sign in using your MSU Denver credentials. You may also have to verify your login with MFA.
  11. After signing in, you will be asked to enable permissions to use Yuja.
  12. Click Enable next to Camera and Microphone if you do not see "Permission Granted" to the right. 
  13. Click Enable next to Screen Recording.
  14. Click Open System Preferences.
  15. Click the Privacy tab and scroll down on the list of Privacy Permissions on the left until you see "Screen Recording".
  16. Click the Screen Recording permission, then scoll down on the list of applications on the right until you see "Yuja".
  17. Click the box next to Yuja to check the box blue. 
  18. System preferences will tell you to quit Yuja, click Quit & Reopen.
  19. Yuja will close, reopen, and ask you to choose your institution and sign in again. 
  20. Yuja will now open to the main page.
  21. Click on the Settings link at the top right corner of the YuJa Software Station window.
  22. Click on screen capture tab and change the resolution to 1280x720 or higher.
  23. Click the Save button to save your settings changes.

Result

Yuja is now installed on your device and is set up for you whenever you need to start a recording.
