What is FindTime?

FindTime is an add-on for Microsoft Outlook that allows people to quickly and easily set up group meetings. When composing an email with multiple recipients, opening FindTime will generate a list of times you could hold a meeting with them, based on their calendar availability and desired duration of the meeting. You can even select multiple time slots, and the recipients will receive a message letting them vote on which slot(s) work best for them. Once a time has been selected, meeting invites will automatically be sent to all participants.

Who can use FindTime?

FindTime is available for all MSU Denver students, faculty, and staff.

How do I access FindTime?

FindTime is accessed in different ways, depending on the version of Outlook you are using.

Outlook on the web

  • Access FindTime while composing an email message (add all intended meeting attendees first) by opening the ellipsis menu across from the Send button, then selecting FindTime.

Outlook 365 on Windows

  • FindTime is available on the Home tab in Outlook.

  • Most versions of Outlook installed by MSU Denver have FindTime activated by default, so in most cases, you should not need to activate the add-in yourself. However, if you do not see it in your Home tab, you may need to activate it from the Get Add-ins menu.

Outlook 365 on macOS

  • FindTime is available in the toolbar when composing a new message.

Some Mac users have noticed they are unable to find this icon in Outlook. In this situation, you may need to enable optional connected experiences in Outlook, which you can locate in the Preferences -> Security menu. Note you will be required to restart all Office applications to enable these functions.
