Viewing your Grades in Canvas

Important! Each course at MSU Denver is unique and different courses may display the grades for their class in different ways. Some instructors may not post all assignment grades in Canvas. Contact your instructor if you have a question about your grades in the course.

Official final grades for a class will be entered into the MSU Denver Banner system at the end of the semester. When the semester is over you can view your final grades in the MSU Denver Student Hub by choosing Grades under the Course Info section.

Tips to keep up with your course grades:

  • Review the Course Syllabus.
  • Pay attention to all course announcements posted in your Canvas course as well as emails from your course and your instructor.
  • Be aware that some grades for quizzes or assignments for your course may be entered later in the semester or the instructor may be sharing your grades with you in other ways.
  • Assignments and quizzes can weigh differently towards your final grade. For example: A small pop quiz may not affect your final grade as much as the Mid Term Exam. You can review the course syllabus for how your grades will be weighted in the course.
  • Best practice is to finish all of your assignments and quizzes for the class on time.
  • Don’t be afraid to reach out to your Instructor if you have questions about your grades in your class.
