How do I connect to GlobalProtect via the client?

Overview

MSU Denver ITS provides GlobalProtect as a remote access solution in circumstances where a student or employee needs to access campus resources from an off-campus location. You can install the GlobalProtect client on managed MSU Denver computers from Software Center (Windows) or Self Service (Mac). Please see the Software Center/Self Service article for more information on installing software on a managed computer.

Before you begin...

Before you will be able to connect to GlobalProtect, you will need access granted to you. You can request access to GlobalProtect here.

Instructions

If you have already installed the GlobalProtect client, please skip to step 5.

  1. Log in to the GlobalProtect portal with your MSU Denver Office 365 email and password.
  2. Click the GlobalProtect Agent link in the top-right corner.

  3. On the next screen, select the appropriate download for your computer's operating system.

  4. Open the file you downloaded (.msi file for Windows, .pkg file for Mac) to install the GlobalProtect Agent.
  5. Once installed, you should receive a prompt from GlobalProtect to enter a portal address. (If you don't get the prompt, you can always open it by clicking the globe icon. It will be in the system tray on Windows, or in the menu bar on Mac.)
  6. Enter secureaccess.msudenver.edu, then click Connect.

  7. Log in with your MSU Denver email address and password when prompted.
  8. You will receive a confirmation message once your computer has connected.

Result

Once connected, you should be able to access campus resources such as Banner admin pages, the virtual lab, network drives, and course-specific instructional computing environments.
