How do I connect to the MSUDenver wireless network on Windows 8.1 devices?

Overview

ITS suggests that MSU Denver students, faculty, and staff use the ‘MSUDenver’ wireless network, whenever possible, because it provides a faster, more secure experience.

Before you begin...

This article specifically addresses connecting a Windows 8.1 device. If you have a different device, you can find a link for connecting it to the "MSUDenver' wireless network here.

Instructions

  1. Click the Wi-Fi icon in the system tray. This will open the sidebar.

  2. Ensure Wi-Fi is turned on.

  3. Select the MSUDenver wireless network and click Connect.

  4. In the User name field, either your MSU Denver NetID or full email address. Enter your MSU Denver NetID password for the Password. Then click OK.

  5. You may receive a security alert like the one below. Please check the wireless map here to see where the MSUDenver wireless will be broadcast. If you have any concerns, please contact the Helpdesk. Otherwise, click Connect.

  6. Verify that the sidebar now displays "Connected" below the MSUDenver wireless network.

Result

You are now connected to the MSUDenver wireless network.
