Overview
Students, Faculty, and Staff can choose to have their personal pronouns displayed next to their Canvas account name. This article will give you the directions on how to do this.
Before you begin...
You must have an active account in Canvas to be able to add pronouns to your account.

Instructions
- Navigate to Canvas
- Choose Account from the left hand main menu.
- Choose Settings from the Account options.
- Choose Edit Settings from the right hand menu on your Settings Page.
- Choose your preferred pronouns from the drop down options next to the Pronouns option.
- Choose Update Settings.

The available pronoun options that can be added in Canvas are listed below:
- She/her/hers
- He/him/his
- They/them/theirs
- She/her/hers or they/them/theirs
- He/him/his or they/them/their
- Ze/hir/hirs
- Ze/zir/zirs
- Ey/em/eirs
- Per/per/pers
- Ve/ver/vers
- Any pronouns
- Please ask for my pronouns
- No pronouns - please use my name only

Result
Your personal pronouns should now be displayed next to your Canvas Account name.
