SPSS Statistics is a software package used for interactive, or batched, statistical analysis. Long produced by SPSS Inc., it was acquired by IBM in 2009.

Who is licensed to use IBM SPSS?

  • All Faculty and Staff can install SPSS on their MSU Denver issued computers and are permitted to install one copy on a home use computer.
  • Students are permitted to install one copy on a home use computer.

How do I request access to IBM SPSS?

IBM SPSS is available to all users on their MSU Denver issued PC laptops through Software Center. For MSU Denver issued Mac computers, SPSS will appear in Self Service and can be installed from there. If you require SPSS to be installed in a department lab, please submit a Software Request for University Devices so that we can schedule that deployment.

Faculty, Staff, and Students who would like home use copies of the software can access them through the Academic Downloads site.

How do I access IBM SPSS?

You will need the GlobalProtect client to be installed and access granted to run SPSS outside of the university network. Once you have enabled GlobaProtect and installed IBM SPSS from one of the methods above, you can launch the application from your Start menu (Windows) or Launchpad (Mac), the application will connect to your license server and you will be able to use it.
