Software Request for University Devices

What is it?

Request software for a faculty and staff computer, classroom computer, or a computer lab.

NOTE: Approved institutional license and open source software titles are readily available for on-demand self installation on faculty and staff university owned devices. Please check out the following knowledgebase articles on how to find and install software using Software Center for Windows and Self Service for macOS.

Who can request this?

Faculty, staff, and student employees are eligible to request software for university owned devices.


Before proceeding with software request submission, please confirm that the software is not available through Software Center for Windows or Self Service for macOS and iOS.

Please provide details about the software being requested such as software title, version, quantity, pc or mac, and approximate cost.

NOTE: When applicable, the IT Asset Management team may request a funding account (FOAPAL) to proceed with procurement.

What to expect

Once the details about the software being requested have been submitted IT will review the software for the following:

  • Terms and conditions for legal, security, privacy, and other risk factors
  • Whether or not resources will be needed for implementation and administration
  • Determine if there are other tools already owned or in place that can provide the same functionality at little or no cost

If the above results in approval the IT Asset Management team will work with the requestor to complete the purchase. Once processed, IT will complete the installation.
