Microsoft Teams is a multimedia communication and collaboration tool available to all MSU Denver students, faculty, and staff through their Office 365 account. Microsoft Teams is the University's primary telephony solution, and can be used by MSU Denver faculty and staff to make or receive phone calls as part of their work. It also offers one-on-one and group instant messaging/chat, video conferencing, and screen sharing.
Recording a voicemail greeting
You can personalize your voicemail greeting using the Teams app on your computer or mobile device.
Recording a greeting on the Teams Desktop App
- Click the three-dot menu icon next to your profile picture or account icon in the upper-right corner.
- Click Settings.
- Click Calls.
- Locate the Manage Voicemail section.
- Click Record a greeting.
- Follow the on-screen prompts.
Recording a greeting on the Teams Mobile App
- Tap your profile picture or account icon in the upper corner.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Calling.
- Tap Change voicemail greeting.
- Follow the on-screen prompts.
Checking your voicemail messages
Any voicemail messages you've received will display in the Calls tab in Teams. You will also be notified of new voicemails in your O365 email.
From the desktop or web application
- Open the Calls tab.
- In the sorting options at the top of the list, click Voicemail.
- When you select a message, you will be shown the date and time of the call, available information about the caller, an automated transcript, and the option to play back the audio.
From the mobile application
- Open the Calls tab.
- Tap the Voicemail icon in the upper-right corner.
- When you select a message, the voicemail will play back automatically.
- If the audio was clear enough, a transcript will appear in the message screen. If you have notifications enabled, you will also see the transcript when the app notifies you of the new voicemail.
