Account (NetID) Life-Cycling Support

Overview

ITS maintains user accounts (NetIDs) and email addresses for students and employees that have active relationships with the university.    When this relationship is no longer active, ITS takes steps to deactivate NetIDs for security and license maintenance.

Please see this KB for more information and FAQs: NetID General Information

How am I notified that my account will be deactivated?

ITS no longer manually evaluates accounts for the life-cycling process. If you account has been deemed inactive, it will be automatically deleted within 30 days. Your account can be recovered, but after 30 days of being deleted, no information can be recovered from your email and other Office 365 Services. There is no notification that your account will be deactivated.

Your account is deemed inactive by the following depending on your role with MSU Denver:

  1. No activity for 3 consecutive semesters. (No class registration for 3 consecutive semesters including the summer semester.)
  2. Employment status has been marked inactive.
