How do I connect to the AurariaNet wireless network on macOS devices?

Remember to use your MSU Denver email address to log in. Don't use your NetID!

Overview

The AurariaNet wireless network is the preferred wireless connection for MSU Denver students, faculty, and staff on the Auraria Campus. ITS suggests using this network whenever possible for a faster, more secure experience.

Before you begin...

  • Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on your device before taking these steps.
  • Some campus buildings do not yet broadcast AurariaNet and instead use the older MSUDenver network. If you're in such a building, please see How do I connect to the MSUDenver wireless network on Mac OS X devices?
  • These instructions may be different depending on your device's version of macOS. Not all menu options will be the same, but most will be similar.
  • You must have an active account with MSU Denver and your password must not be expired.
  • If you change your NetID password, you must also update in your device's Wi-Fi settings. Failure to do so may result in repeated account lockouts as your phone continually tries to authenticate with the old password.
  • This article specifically addresses connecting a macOS computer. For instructions for other devices, please see What are MSU Denver's Wi-Fi networks?

Instructions

  1. Open your device's Wi-Fi menu.
  2. Click the AurariaNet network.

  3. Enter your MSU Denver email address in the Account Name field.
  4. Enter your MSU Denver password in the Password field.
  5. Click OK.

  6. You will be prompted to accept a security certificate. Verify it is coming from a "winad.msudenver.edu" address, then click Continue.
