Please Note: The MSU Denver phone system is currently transitioning from Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams. Some information in this article will only be relevant if your department has already been migrated to Teams telephony.

For more information, please visit the Skype to Teams Migration initiative webpage.

Microsoft Teams is a multimedia communication and collaboration tool available to all MSU Denver students, faculty, and staff through their Office 365 account. Microsoft Teams is the University's primary telephony solution, and can be used by MSU Denver faculty and staff to make or receive phone calls as part of their work. It also offers one-on-one and group instant messaging/chat, video conferencing, and screen sharing.

Who can use Teams?

All current students, faculty, and staff.

How do I request access to Teams?

By default, all MSU Denver students, faculty, and staff can use Teams to join meetings, send messages, and make phone calls with other MSU Denver constituents. If you are an employee and you need to make or receive phone calls outside the University, please submit an Employee Phone Extension request.

How do I access Teams?

MSU Denver computers

The Microsoft Teams app is installed by default on all newly-deployed MSU Denver computers, and can be installed manually on any MSU Denver computer through the University's software self-service features. Please see What is Self Service / Software Center / Company Portal? for more information, including step-by-step installation instructions for your operating system of choice.

You can also access Teams through the Office 365 web app, though this will be a less robust experience than the dedicated app. Please see How do I access Teams through a web browser? for more information.

Personal devices

As part of their MSU Denver Office 365 account, all students, faculty, and staff can install Microsoft Teams on up to five different devices. Please see How do I download Office 365 applications on my personal devices? for step-by-step instructions.
