Support for networked printers

Information Technology Services (ITS) provides support for networked Multi-Function Printers (MFP), often leased from Lewan or Ricoh.    

Support ITS provides:

  • Installing department printers on MSU Denver computers.
  • Troubleshooting errors on an MSU Denver computer or printer that is preventing successful printing.
  • Granting security group access to department office managers who control access to their printers.
  • Configuring and maintaining the network jacks your departmental printers connect to.
  • Once your department has set up a lease with Lewan, please submit a New Printer Purchase & Setup request to have ITS configure your leased printer settings before the printer is delivered to you. 

Support Xerox or Ricoh provides when you lease a printer:

  • Ink/toner replacements
  • Repair on physical hardware malfunctions

Personal computers:

  • Networked printers cannot be installed on personal devices, only MSU Denver-owned devices.

For all other printer installations at this time, please use this request form for assistance.

Support on non-networked printers ("desktop printers") or personal printers

ITS provides limited, best-effort connectivity support for non-networked or personal printers.

Best-effort support:

  • Desktop printers cannot be enabled for wireless printing (this is a security protocol).  However, ITS can assist with driver installations via a USB cable connection.
  • ITS will provide best-effort to install a home printer driver on an MSU Denver computer.
  • ITS does not provide hardware maintenance or ink for printers (unless it's a computer lab). 
     
Requirements
  • Printer Support is designed for employees or students unable to connect to a printer from an MSU Denver computer. 
  • To request printer support, select Report an issue on the top of this page or call us at 303-352-7548.   Please have the names of printers (if known), locations, any error messages handy when you make your request here or over the phone.

 ITS will will work with you via remote session to address your needs or escalate your request or incident to the appropriate teams for resolution.
